Build your capability to be intelligence and insights driven

Learnings from a regulatory leader in data and intelligence.

Discover how data, intelligence and actionable insights inform tactical, operational and strategic decision-making, the key to being an effective and trusted intelligence and insights driven regulator.

John Munro, regulatory industry specialist, and Objective's Regulatory Practice leader, will take you on a journey to understand why some questions can't be answered by evidence-based methods like research or analytics due to limited resources or poor data. Intelligence analysis aims to fill this gap, aiding decision-making under uncertainty.

Intelligence

Intelligence gathers insights from all available sources, including data, staff debriefs, experts, research, media, records, and other agencies. These sources are assessed for reliability and pieced together like a puzzle. Probabilistic language is then used to express the level of uncertainty in the insights.

Insights

Insights are created by consistently following a process that collects, processes, and analyses all forms of information, from data to personal experience, to produce actionable results. Various methodologies, such as intelligence analysis, advanced analytics, research, and evaluation, can be applied based on factors like available funding, the degree of certainty needed for decision-making, and the quality of information available for analysis.
