‘Tis the season for giving back to the community

In spirit of the 2021 season of giving, Objective is supporting local charities who are striving to brighten the lives of children in care. Read about the organisations across three of our geographies and how our Objective Gives program is providing #outstanding outcomes of Christmas cheer this year.

Making a difference and driving stronger communities is something that is dear to the heart of Objective and our team. Each year, we contribute to charities through our corporate initiative, Objective Gives program. From providing employees with an extra day of paid leave to volunteer at the charity of their choice, to matching donations dollar for dollar, Objective supports giving back to local organisations.

All charities and organisations aligning with our values and purpose are considered for nomination under the Objective Gives program. This holiday season, Objective has supported one charity in each of our geographies with the purpose of ensuring children in care are supported and can experience the magic of Christmas.

It has been a fantastic effort of fundraising across Objective’s teams. Many gifts have also been donated to the causes and have been placed under our office Christmas trees. Objective has matched all fundraising amounts, dollar for dollar. Let’s take a look at the charities supported by the initiative in 2021.

Australia: CareSouth

Christmas is a time for gathering with close ones, sharing a meal, and enjoying the spirit of giving. Unfortunately, for many in our communities, this is not possible. This is why Objective has allocated our Objective Gives AU program to CareSouth’s Virtual Giving Tree Initiative.

Based in Southern and Western New South Wales, CareSouth is a local organisation who are passionate about, and committed to, building stronger communities. They enhance and strengthen the lives of those they work with, and they seek to inspire each other and the communities in which they operate.

CareSouth’s vision is to create a positive future for children, young people, individuals, families and communities by providing opportunities in which they can enhance their quality of life. It’s been a tough year and CareSouth’s Virtual Giving tree seeks to spread joy to children and young people in care through the act of giving.

New Zealand: Foster Hope

Foster Hope believes that every child in foster care deserves to know that their community cares about them. This is demonstrated by providing them with a backpack of essential items as a symbol of love and support. As most children arrive at their new placements with little more than the clothes on their backs, Foster Hope’s backpacks can bring a little hope into what is a stressful time.

The Objective Gives NZ program supported Foster Hope’s Christmas Gift Drive 2021. This initiative will help Foster Hope to collect new, unwrapped Christmas presents for children in foster care throughout New Zealand who have experienced the effects of child abuse, neglect and crisis.

Sadly, many children enter into emergency service facilities during the Christmas period. To ensure no child is left without a gift under the tree, the Christmas Gift Drive offers some hope and bring some sunshine into the lives of vulnerable children in the community.

United Kingdom: KidsOut

KidsOut is the only charity that supports every child who is a victim of domestic abuse living in a refuge. During COVID-19, KidsOut has been providing food vouchers, toys boxes, technology for education, and memorable events for the families who have faced abuse.

Children in refuge are living in a state of lockdown until they are moved to a new home. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, the wait times to move to a new home have increased. The children that KidsOut support are needing more help than ever before and the Objective Gives UK program stepped up to help. As part of the KidsOut Giving Tree initiative, a box of brand-new toys will be given to every child in refuge over the Christmas period.

It has been a pleasure to support these organisations and charities this holiday season and to help to make a brighter impact on our communities.
