What it’s Like to Be a Part of the Support Team at Objective
Learn what it's like to work on the Objective support team and the career opportunities it brings
At Objective, our Support team is critical to the success of our business and our clients’ satisfaction. Here’s a bit more about what it’s like to be part of the team and where it might take you...
Our Support team's responsibilities
The team provides support and assistance for the Objective product suite. This ranges from simple requests, such as a password reset, through to more complex technical questions from system administrators.
Each Support Consultant has an assigned a set of customers, fostering and building relationships with them to gain greater insights into their technical environment and business. They also create and maintain knowledge base articles for our products, can be involved in global support initiatives, and ensure our test systems and lab equipment are set up and administered for effective problem duplication.
The main job skills include application troubleshooting, SQL coding and communication. As part of their day-to-day work, our Support Consultants develop valuable industry knowledge, and learn to identify opportunities to improve processes.
Development opportunities for Support team members
Objective offers extensive and ongoing training for its suite of products. Consultants have the opportunity to participate in our public courses alongside customers, which not only builds on knowledge of Objective products, but also allows them to hear questions from our customers on their real-world challenges. There are regular sessions with our product development teams, targeted specifically for the Support team, packed with info needed to help our customers with any updated or new product features.
Objective also provides all its employees access to an online learning portal which offers over 16,000 online courses. The ITIL Foundation course is particularly recommended for Support Consultants.
Career growth opportunities
Having a mix of technical and soft skills means that Consultants can find career opportunities in either a technical or business space.
Team members could move to our Managed Services team, to work with our key customer accounts. They might also choose to move into project work in our Professional Services team, in either a Business or Technical consultant capacity. Other opportunities can include our Training team, Software Development and Testing, or Customer Success teams.
Objective is big enough to offer exciting opportunities and varied work, and small enough that everyone can interact with, and find out about, other areas of the business.

Why Objective is a great place to work
Objective is big enough to offer exciting opportunities and varied work, and small enough that everyone can interact with, and find out about, other areas of the business. The Support team is constantly engaging with other teams across the business, and can gain great insight into the different roles available at Objective.
One great initiative is our Boomerang Program, where employees get to experience "A Day in the Life" with a mentor in a role they are interested in. There’s also the opportunity to take on a job rotation and spend three or more months on temporary assignments in a different role.
Ultimately, Objective is a great place to work and the Support team is the perfect place to start building a career. Head over to our careers page to find your next role!
